Texas State CapitolAustin, Texas
During its 100 years of service, the Texas Capitol had been renovated time and again, leaving the building architecturally diminished and overcrowded. The renovation and expansion provided for contemporary space needs while restoring the historic beauty of the building. Exterior restoration addressed waterproofing and general deterioration. Interior restoration removed layers of partitions and mezzanines to expose the original interior. Systems upgrades improved space conditioning and telecom. An underground extension provided additional square footage for the building's programmatic requirements.
