Pottery BarnSan Francisco, California
A former bank building was renovated to house this flagship store for a national retailer of home furnishings. This store was one of the early LEED-registered projects. Final certification was not pursued, but numerous sustainability features were implemented. The greening of this store was used as a template, and Pottery Barn stores across the country now incorporate sustainable design. Highlights in this store include low-emitting materials, FSC-certified wood, daylighting, water-conserving fixtures, and energy-efficient system controls. Carpool parking, proximity to public transit, and construction waste recycling were also incorporated.
