Claremont Village Parking StructureClaremont, California
Design of this parking structure was driven by the desire to create a landmark entry to the City of Claremont – historically, a center of the citrus packing industry. The project is a key component of the City’s effort to preserve its unique ambience and, at the same time, encourage economic vitality. An undulating “wave wall” of perforated aluminum that creates a dynamic visual experience for those entering the city by rail or car. An artist-installed “orange peel” mosaic acts as a reminder of the City’s connection to the citrus industry. This is echoed by a “lemon yellow” mosaic on the North side of the structure.
