The AlamoSan Antonio, Texas
The architecture firm developed a comprehensive master plan for the restoration and preservation of this historic site. Site improvements included removing contemporary landscaping and reintroducing native plant species. Existing structures were restored, and necessary, contemporary support features were incorporated. Field work determined that the famous shrine was suffering from moisture deterioration. A plan was developed to physically separate the chapel’s limestone walls from the moist soil below and restore the integrity of the building.
